04.30.09 Update

I had my 2nd doctor's appt. and everything is great!
This time I actually got to hear the babies heartbeat!
Wow!
Amazing to realize that there is something alive and growing
in there.
It is a healthy heartbeat, real fast!

Eric wasn't able to go this time and he wishes he could have.
He'll get to go when we are able to find out the gender, I can't wait.
We still have a ways to go before then, I am entering my 11th week, so
about another month and a half until we find out what's in there.

I am not really showing yet, but I've gained a few pounds, and those show.
Clothes are getting snug and uncomfortable though.

I am still really tired but I think I feel it letting up a little.
I hardly ever feel nausea, so I guess I am getting close to the 2nd trimester bliss
that everyone is telling me about.

Everyone that I talk to has been so supportive and helpful, especially the mommies,
they know their stuff.
Our neighbor gave me the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book, which is the only book I can actually read, I can't put it down and I get too ahead of myself.
I am not a big reader unless I learn something useful and this book is very informative!
I will probably get the next one "What to Expect, The First Year".
Also, a business friend of mine is letting us borrow her cradle!  She even delivered it to us.
It is already in it's place in our bedroom right under our photo of the Sunrise in Maui.
Hopefully when the baby sees that it will be relaxing, or at least he or she will think,
"Wow, my Mommy is a great photographer".
Others that I talk to are very supportive in their advise, experience,  and just listening to me
when I need to talk.  They check in with me every now and then to see how I'm feeling and
it reminds them memories of when they were expecting.

Anyway, things are going well with the baby and I am hanging in there for the 2nd trimester.
We are a little stressed with the economy and our jobs are bringing little income these days,
but somehow we are making it.  At times we think, "What did we get ourselves into?", but
when he/or she gets here it will all be worth it, I just have to keep working towards that anyway.

My next doctor's appt may not be very exciting, I think we are just talking about
screenings, blood tests and insurance. Boring!!

But I'll keep you posted with other stuff, we are starting to look at baby furniture!

Ta-Ta for now!

  3. Well hello from Michigan... its nice to hear about the baby and to see how excited you are! I imagine the names are starting to enter your mind and you muse over them and wonder how people come up with the suggestions they do... especially relatives. So, I certainly won't start sending you any.

Anything goes with Beck though... so you can choose anything you want, right?

Take good care of yourself and don't over do it on exercises and stuff.

We will be keeping a look out for some pictures... when is the actual due date???

Lots of love, xoxoxoxoxo Uncle Bob and Jan

  4. I just saw that there were comments on here, sorry.

I am not very good at this blogging thing.
Let's see if I can answer any questions.
    Due date: Nov 22nd
I will try to post more pics very soon. It's hard keeping up with this blogging.

Lightening: Yes, a couple of months ago house yard actually got hit by lightening which went through our sprinkler system into the house blowing up the sprinkler control box in the garage which my not so old Jeep was parked next too. It made some dents and scratches on the passenger side, very sad.
I was here so fortunately I wasn't hurt or anything, it could have gone through the whole house I guess.
Since then we fixed the sprinkler and When we get around to affording the deductible we'll see about getting my, now ugly, Jeep fixed.
